You Move at Your Pace
One reason why conventional learning is very stressful is that people have a test deadline at the back of their mind. The learner is worried that he or she will fail if he or she has not mastered the given content within a specified time before a test is administered. The CBT & A does not have a timeline within which you are expected to acquire all the desired competencies. Instead, you are allowed to go through all the competence areas with your trainer at your own pace. This allows you to go through that content as quickly or as slowly as you wish.
No Grades are Given
Another major advantage of the CBT & A programme is there is no record of competence tests that you failed or passed. You can be retrained in a given competence area, such as road signs, as many times as it takes you to master that aspect of your training. After each training session, you will be tested to establish whether you have acquired the desired knowledge or skill. Once your performance in the test is satisfactory, the trainer will move on to the next task/competence until you cover all the required aspects. This system is very good because you will not be preoccupied with the fear that your certificate of completion will be tainted by low grades in some aspects of the training that you underwent.
You Can Change Examiners
The CBT & A programme allows an individual undergoing training to change from one authorised examiner to another. This provision is very good because your current examiner may have a busy schedule that may not accommodate the added time that you have to undergo training. In such a case, you are free to get a new authorised examiner to continue from where the previous one stopped. You do not have to undergo fresh training in the competence areas that you had covered with the previous examiner.
